Just Before Dawn
Come awake with me in the depth.
Wait with wet wiles
revealed, disarmed
by the dark inside.
Try
to pierce your heaving sternum
and invite the shell
of sleep to crack.
Be with me, until the last
golden beat of aspen leaf.
Be with me, erupt if you must.
Just
open your feathered heart
to the morning moon.
And kiss me until we are melded.
Kiss me again
and again.

I think we were on the same poet wavelength today. Nicely done.
Beautiful stuff, Mike.
