Oh Mike, I love this. I adore grandfather (grandmother) pieces, and you’ve done such a wonderful job breathing life into your old sire with these words. I’ve got a real sense of him, his presence. What a treat to share in these cherished memories of yours.
I'm not sure what I would say or do, what I could say or do, if I'm fortunate enough to cross paths with my grandparents again. But I am counting on that opportunity. I lost them all when I was too young to appreciate all they had to offer.
Thank you for sharing your Grandfather with us. Amazing how our loved ones live on through our memories. Beautiful read
Added to my repertoire
I sing you " so, bed?"
Night is falling
Dreams are calling
Time to rest
Your tired head.
Peace I bring you
I shall sing you
Now my darling
So, Bed?
Wonderful piece, Mike, heart-felt and true. Grandfather would be proud.

Love "coarse cliffs of salt and pepper eyebrows." Thank you for evoking memories of my own stern, loving, accented forebears.
Really great writing and powerful memories conveyed so vividly, Mike.
Thanks, David!
So filled with sweetness and the unwavering love between two souls.
This is lovely, Mike, and really nice to hear your voice, too!
Congrats on moving forward with paid subscriptions, something I've yet to do. What an honor to be paid for your work!

Thank you for this beautiful connection.
Really wonderful.
