Thank you, Jonathan. Indeed, your words and style (and especially your delivery style) were swirling in my head the way a song often does, off and on during this little gathering we put together. And I was filled with love and inspiration at both the scenery and the sight of my friends and family having such a wonderful time, despite the occasionally teary tiffs among the kids who were in attendance. I scrawled what notes/lines I could in the cracks in time between the busy tasks of parenting, and polished it up when I got home. One thing I love about poetry is how it can feel like a spontaneous act of creation with myself, almost flirtatious. Thank you so much for all your inspiration and support.
I love it! I only feel bad that I couldn’t be there. I especially liked “dual frisbees”. You work with various moods, Mike, and I think you nailed this one. I feel hopeful!
The start of our warmer lives 💙
This poem is the start of my warmer life! It's already heating up my heart with its subtle grandeur and amicable imagery.
Nice one, Mike!

Heaven, yes?
It really was!
A very cozy and warmth picture this poem paints. I like the welcoming environment that this represents, suitable for cheerfulness.
This takes me back to cozy summer days. The descriptions evoke a feeling of familiarity within each stanza as well.
As an ultimate frisbee player who loves chicken wings, this got me in multiple ways
I swear I hear Will Smith singing “Summertime” in background.
The start of happy times outdoors grilling with family and friends. You brought your words to life.

Thank you so much, Don! I could feel that something light and joyous needed its turn to come out. Yeah, it was a lovely time!
